‘HOMAGE TO WOMEN OF PEACE’
Following
the United Nations Resolution 1325 vote in 2000, every two years a group of
deserving women - working alone or within an organization - involved for peace
in conflict and war zones, women struggling for nonviolence and peace building,
women raising their voices in peace negotiations are being honoured with the
title: ‘Homage to Women of Peace’. This honor celebration took place in the
Belgian Senate on the 15th December 2016. This homage has also been
conferred on me as a ‘Woman of Peace’. I share this homage with numerous people
and friends who have supported the Iconic Dolls ministry in so many ways. On
the 8th of March 2017, the Women of Peace of year 2012, 2014 and
2016 have been received at the Brussels’ Royal Palace by the Belgian Queen and
King. Being in India, I requested my niece to represent me at the two very
moving events.
